Christmas foods

Christmas Eve Glazed Chocolate Layer Cake

Christmas Morning Breakfast
Pecan Sticky Buns--A traditional favorite from AJ's family
Mushroom Quiche
Clementines
Plus, don't forget the Christmas crackers

Christmas Dinner
Green Beans with Pinenuts
Sliced Potatoes with Thyme and Scallops
Fresh Greens
Rolls
The ham, though good, wasn't quite as pretty as the rest of the food.

And because I thought it turned out pretty, a closeup of the potatoes

Ah-ha! You read Everyday Food, too? I was tempted to make that exact same cake and potato dish myself, but backed out because I decided on something easier. They look gorgeous, what a feast!

Yes, Everyday Food--a definite staple around here. The potatoes take a really long time to cook, as a warning. And the cake is amazing--I used a substitute for the mascarpone cheese (cream cheese, cream, and butter) since I couldn't find any. (But, just try to blot out the nutritional information from your mind before consuming or justify it as a once a year treat.)

Oh, are those Lucina's rolls???

MH--The rolls are a recipe from Andy's mom--but probably similar to Lucina's. I think it is a Lion House recipe.

Everyday Food is a great magazine (10 times per year) from Martha Stewart, but more doable than most Martha Stewart.
